중국전략연구소 소장 신우선입니다.
우리 연구소는 급변하는 동아시아와 세계 정세 속에서 중화권에 대한 깊이 있는 통찰을 바탕으로, 한국 사회의 전략적 대응을 모색하고자 합니다. 여기서 말하는 ‘중화권’은 중국 대륙에 국한되지 않으며, 대만·홍콩·마카오를 비롯해 전 세계의 해외 화인 사회까지 포괄하는 개념입니다.
정치·경제·외교는 물론, 언어·문화·사상에 이르기까지 중화권의 다양한 면모를 학제적으로 조망하고, 국내외 연구자들과의 협업을 통해 의미 있는 학문적 성과를 축적해 나가는 것이 연구소의 지향점입니다.
앞으로 연구소는 심화된 중화권 연구의 허브로서 역할을 다하는 한편, 지역사회 및 공공 부문과의 소통도 지속적으로 확대해 나가고자 합니다. 더불어 후속 세대 연구자 양성을 위한 교육 프로그램과 국제 연구 네트워크 구축에도 힘쓸 것입니다.
중화권을 둘러싼 복합적인 현상을 깊이 성찰하고, 그 속에서 미래를 전망하는 열린 지식의 장이 될 수 있도록 노력하겠습니다.

[ Director's Message ]
In a time of rapid change in East Asia and the global order, our institute aims to explore strategic responses for Korean society through in-depth engagement with the Chinese-speaking world. The term “Chinese-speaking world” here is not limited to mainland China but also encompasses Taiwan, Hong Kong, Macao, and overseas Chinese communities around the globe.Our research adopts an interdisciplinary approach to examine the diverse dimensions of Greater China—politics, economy, diplomacy, language, culture, and thought. Through active collaboration with scholars at home and abroad, we seek to generate meaningful academic insights.
Looking ahead, we are committed to developing the institute as a leading hub for Chinese studies, strengthening ties with the public sector and local communities, and fostering the next generation of scholars through educational programs and international research networks.
We strive to provide an open platform for critical reflection and forward-looking dialogue on the complex dynamics of the Chinese-speaking world.
